This turtle was seen crossing the street early Thursday morning on May 7th by the Salina Journal. It held up traffic until animal control took it to safety.

Hi, my name is Brandy. I was abandoned by my owners and forced to live on my own, searching for food and shelter. Having had the experience of life indoors, I tried very hard to find another kind person to take me in. Finally, the McPherson County Humane Society rescued me. Unfortunately, upon initial examination I tested positive for feline leukemia - probably because of my time spent out on my own. Being a carrier of feline leukemia means that I could come down with the disease later in my life, however I may have many years left and might never come down with the disease at all. That said, because of this positive test, I must go to a home without any other kitties. Feline leukemia does not affect dogs or humans. I would love to be your lap kitty and be the center of your attention! I am very sweet and snuggly and promise to love you back. Please give me a chance!
