COLBY - A. Gene Jones, 83, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012. He was born April 20, 1928, to Alfred and Olga Jones. Preceded in death: grandson, Vance Smith; brother, Elton Jones; and half brother, R.C. Dugger. Survivors: wife, Frieda; a son, Shane Jones; two daughters, Peggy Smith and Pam Jones; a brother, Armun Jones; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Assembly of God Church, Colby. Burial will follow in Beulah Cemetery, with military honors. Memorials: College Drive Assembly Youth Group, in care of Baalmann Mortuary, P.O. Box 391, Colby 67701.
