Salina South senior Darius Peterson has been added to the West roster for the 2012 Kansas Shrine Bowl.
Peterson, a 6-foot-6, 261-pound offensive lineman, will compete in the annual football all-star game on July 28 at Welch Stadium on the campus of Emporia State University.
Peterson earned all-league, all-county and Class 5A all-state honors following his senior season. The Shrine Bowl featured the top high school football players in Kansas.
Peterson's selection marks the fourth consecutive year a South player has been invited to the Shrine Bowl, following Mark Matteson and Kenny Holmes (2009), Jason Seibel (2010) and Tim McGaha (2011).
